Under limited supervision is responsible for non exempt recruitment, new hire and termination processing, benefits enrollment and administration. Coordinates short, long term and worker’s compensation disability paperwork with the employees and appropriate insurance companies. Prepares and distributes monthly operating reports. Recruiting activities include advertising, internal posting, and external postings at appropriate agencies. Reviewing applications and resumes and selecting candidates for interviews. Conducts interviews and makes recommendations for hire to managers. Responsible for ensuring that all pre-employment procedures and followed and are up-to-date with current regulations. Researches, recommends and conducts pre-employment testing to ensure candidates meet job technical and interpersonal requirements. Coordinates pre-employment background investigations, extends employment offers, generates employment offer letters and processes pre-employment paperwork. Participates in benefit planning meetings with the vice president of human resources. Maintains a thorough knowledge of benefit programs, eligibility requirements and all associated regulations. Conducts enrollment meetings and presents most administrative benefit functions. Administers and coordinates leaves under the Family Medical Leave Act, Shot-term disability, long-term disability and Worker’s Compensation. Conducts Exit interviews with terminating employees and prepares for reports of findings. Initiates termination paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. Ensures that all benefit information is completed and internal systems are updated to reflect new employment status. Prompt, friendly and accurate service to internal and external customers. This position requires a two-year college degree or equivalent in specialized technical training with three to five years of similar or related experience. A professional designation is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Must possess a working knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations as they relate to payroll, benefits and employment. This position requires the ability to resolve problems that are somewhat complex requiring analysis of data and weighing the outcomes of decisions. There is a moderate amount of discretion available in the job. Must also possess strong interpersonal skills and proven leadership abilities to effectively communicate and interact within the credit union and/or routine contacts with people outside the credit union with whom we have or seek to create relationships. Must be proficient with common office equipment such as, but not limited to Window based PC computer and 10-key calculator. Intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel also required.
